A secure data space for research and development.
Honic is developing a GDPR-compliant platform that enables research and development based on healthcare data. The Honic Medhive® is an entrepreneurial solution made in Germany, which is created in collaboration with strong partners and in close coordination with data protection authorities. Following a security by design approach and working closely with IT security experts we aim for the highest level of data security.
In addition to cataloguing and storage, Honic Medhive® enables the use-case specific aggregation and combination of quality-controlled health data and its further analysis in anonymized form for medical research and development.
Primary data from different medical areas are processed and pseudonymized in a multi-step process and provided anonymously for evidence-based research and development.
The result is a unique and valuable data space. We make the data usable for improving medical and pharmaceutical products, data-driven cutting-edge research, and the development, training, and verification of complex algorithms.
Decades of experience to shape the medicine of tomorrow.
Honic team combines decades of experience in healthcare, regulatory affairs, health data protection, and digital medicine with profound know-how in the development of digital technologies and solutions. Recognized physicians are part of the interdisciplinary team as well as digital health pioneers, privacy experts, and architects of complex platform solutions.
Amal has a broad background in mathematics and computer science with an avid interest in cutting-edge technologies in artificial intelligence and data science, and in particular their application in the health care field. “Being part of the evolution in the digital healthcare in Germany while gaining hands-on experience is my motivation to join Honic.”
Nataliya has ten years of experience in the holistic conception and implementation of a wide variety of information formats in the health care sector on an international terrain. She is convinced: "The collaboration of the right players determines quality and speed. The use of digital technologies supports a modern medicine of today and tomorrow enormously."
Matthias combines the experience and passion of eight years of intensive care medicine and nursing with six years of healthcare software and product development. For him, the focus is on the meaningful use of contemporary technologies: "It's about making care, both for the patient and the practitioner, more efficient, so that it's not the process, but the person, that can come back to the fore."
As a young, dedicated cloud engineer and Kubernetes specialist, Robert has spent the past few years building infrastructure for a complex IoT system as part of Ralf Schramm's team. "My focus at Honic is to design and build a secure and highly available platform together with our technology partners."
Leopold previously worked at a pharmacy and has since been focusing on faster digitization in the storage and further use of health data: "The challenge is to develop a cloud platform-based storage medium to be able to further use the collected health data for research purposes in compliance with data protection laws. The goal must always be maximum patient benefit."
Elena has already advised various innovative companies as a lawyer and therefor knows: "The General Data Protection Regulation privileges the processing of data for scientific research purposes - at the same time, this results in high requirements for data security and protection by design. At Honic, I bring the legal perspective on data use into an interdisciplinary team to create a secure health data space.“
Jan is convinced: "All of the major social challenges of our time can only be met through cooperation between all relevant players. The potential of data-based healthcare and research requires an approach that brings together medical data from a wide range of players in a secure way that complies with data protection regulations - for the benefit of patients.
Nora knows that the potential to improve healthcare by further leveraging medical data is immense - but not at any cost. "At Honic, I get to be part of how a thoughtful, secure platform maximizes the possibilities of medicine while protecting and preserving individual rights."
Achim is experienced in analysing big data and now focusing on analysing radiological images during his master thesis at RWTH Aachen. He knows, that “knowledge is a key aspect to improve medical healthcare and research builds the fundament to it.”

Nora combines digital expertise and entrepreneurship through her stations in digital consulting and at recognized venture builders. "The innovation potential in the healthcare industry is huge. I am convinced that by providing access to health data for research and development, we will enable a more holistic, preventive, and safer health care."
The way we work together as a team is fundamental to our successful business. "Together with the entire team, I work every day to create a modern, diverse and innovative working environment where every individual can reach their full potential to improve health care."

Salin is convinced: "Neither the strongest nor the smartest species survives, but the one that can best adapt to change."
Honic is the name of the company! The name deliberately evokes of the work of bees. Just as they collect nectar from surrounding flowers, bring it to their secured hive and turn it into honey, Honic aims to collect and host medical data on a secure platform and enable further analysis for research and development through GDPR-compliant processing.
